1-Day Raw Food & Yoga Retreat
Sunday, February 26, 9am-4pm with lunch Sign Me Up!
Come out to our new 10-acre property for a beautiful day of yoga, raw food inspiration, education and renewal, held in our unique yurt classroom. No previous yoga experience is necessary, just an ability to get up and down on your own. We will begin our day together with a Gentle Yoga Session which will include philosophy for the raw lifestyle, breath work, and guided meditation along with physical postures. Then Ellen will demonstrate 3 recipes which we will enjoy as our 3-Course Lunch. After lunch we will spend the afternoon in facilitated in-depth discussions focused on topics important to your success, such as: nuts & bolts, menu planning, conquering cravings and self-sabotage, raw winters, social and emotional challenges, and others depending on the group's interest and needs. Tuition is $97
Yoga Classes
My primary teaching style is inspired by vinyasa krama yoga, a style brought to prominence by the legendary yogi Sri. T. Krishnamacharya. In this flowing yoga the functions of the mind, body, and breath are integrated and the student experiences an elevated level of mental peace.
The physical postures are linked to each other with transitional movements (vinyasas), while the mind closely follows the slow, deliberate, deep breathing. Thus the breath is used as a harness that links the body and mind, and the union of yoga is achieved.
The movements are slow in vinyasa yoga, and the student learns to deepen the breath and slow the breathing rate. By keeping the mind focused on the controlled breath, which leads the movements, the student progresses safely and without injury. A state of steady awareness is cultivated, and from this place the student can access his or her natural inner state of peace and joy.
